Hi everyone! Sorry for not being very active lately. Summer has been really fun. I am currently in New Jersey visiting my aunt! Life has been great.

I am excited to go to Ringling and start my sophomore year! I haven’t uploaded anything this summer so I will periodically update some of my work during this month.  Here are a few figures from June!

First Year at Ringling

Well, it’s been a week.  Well, almost a week.
My first year at Ringling has come to a conclusion.  I learned a lot in this past year and my art has improved so much.  I am now able to do things I could not have imagined doing a year ago.  I think that in itself is an accomplishment.
However, I am going to be honest.  Even though I learned a ton and feel accomplished, this year was nothing but easy.  First semester was pretty slow and I had a ton of fun at FEWS (the figure drawing club).  The second semester, though, was quite a pitfall for me.  I learned a lot about myself and my passion towards art as well as my goals for the future.  It’s hard in art school.  The deadlines, the talent, the amount of workload given–it’s easy to get sucked into a sort of artistic depression.  But I think through that struggle I saw a great sense of development as an artist and person within me.
I also met some of the most incredible people I know.  Camilo, you inspire me so much.  I am so lucky to have you in my life.  You art is amazing.  You are amazing.  And Andrew, although our time together was short, you also became an inspiration to me.  I am so lucky to know you.  I can’t wait to see you and your art in the future.  Allen, another inspiration of mine.  Thank you for always dealing with me despite my assholishness.  Your determination always amazes me.  I also can’t wait to see where your art goes! And finally, Vicki.  You are beautiful and wonderful.  Your art reflects everything you are as a person. Thank you, thank you, thank you, bonita.
I was also blessed to have such a caring and fun floor.  Our floor really bonded and came together this past semester.  Tina and Ariana, thank you for feeding my soul. You both saved me from the torture that Hammonds is.  And Lara! Thank you so much for always being there for us.  And thank you for dealing with us for another year.  I can’t wait to see what you produce this upcoming year!
I think I have a lot to be thankful for.  This past year had its up and downs.  But I grew a lot.   Thank you to all the wonderful people in my life and all the people who follow me on here.  Your support means so much to me.  Thank you.
Welp, I guess I am off to bed.  I will post art soon!

Animal Gestures

Just finished the animal drawing unit at Ringling! We went to Jungle Gardens and Big Cat Habitat to draw animals.  It was nice getting out of this place and being able to draw without worries.

Finley the Fox

Our next assignment in animation class is to design and animate an animal. My character's name is Finley. He is a 6-year old fox who sees the joy in everything. He is a really positive character who just loves adventure! I can't wait to animate him!!

Inventive Interior

This was my inventive interior assignment for Drawing! I learned a lot from this project.  It made me really hungry at times though..

Value Gestures

My figure drawing teacher told us to try squinting our eyes and use value instead of line to communicate form.  I really enjoy using this technique.
Also, if you haven’t already, go watch Big Hero 6. It’s unbelievable.
